Abducted police officer's body recovered in Manipur

IMPHAL, June 27?The bullet riddled body of kidnapped police officer Chanam Arunkumar Singh, has been found at Selmat village area in Manipur?s Churanchandpur district, official sources said today, reports PTI. Singh (36), a sub-Inspector of Churachandpur police station had been kidnapped by suspected militants of Kuki National Front (KNF) from Tuibon area near his office on July 21. DPP demands arrest of NSCN (I-M) leader

NE ultras procuring arms from UNLF

GUWAHATI, June 18 ? United National Liberation Front (UNLF), a militant group, operating from Myanmar has been providing arms and ammunition to several underground organisations of the North-east India, highly placed official sources disclosed today. 6,770 militants operating in Manipur alone

DIMAPUR, June 18 ? At least 6,770 militants belonging to various militant outfits operate in the north-eastern State of Manipur alone including the National Socialist Council of Nagalim (NSCN-IM) which is presently engaged in talks to bring a permanent solution to the vexed Naga political problem.
