Imphal, April 12: The State Police Department has today ordered a Departmental Inquiry against the five policemen who have been suspended on charges of planting drugs in a city shop and trying to extract money from the shop owner on false charges yesterday. Imphal, April 09: Four CRPF jawans were killed while two were injured when militants mounted an attack on a CRPF convoy at Pangei bazar today at about 2.30 pm. Two students including a girl were also killed. The market place was humming with activities when the attack came. Eight persons also received bullet injuries. Scores of civilians were injured when the CRPF went on a rampage. The injured have been admitted to RIMS and JN hospital. How the two students were killed is not clear. Imphal, April 11: Five state police personnel belonging to the Imphal East Drug Cell have been placed under suspension for allegedly trying to dupe a Paona Bazar trader to paying Rs 60,000 on false charges of seizing heroine from the latter?s shop today. IMPHAL, March 29? Kidnapped Deputy Commissioner of Manipur?s Chandel district, Yambem Thamkishore was today released by underground NSCN (I-M), district superintendent of police P Dhanakumar said. Dhanakumar told PTI over phone from Chandel that Thamkishore was freed by the kidnappers at a place near Chandel.
