RPF pays tribute to its martyrs

Imphal, April 15: The Revolutionary People's Front and its armed wing People Liberation Front Army in tribute to the martyrs of the revolution movement released a patriotic song cassette and a Manipuri calendar to mark the historic occasion of April 13. Speaking to the press on the release function, the publicity assistant chief, RPF said, the calendar as well as the revolutionary song cassette is dedicated to numerous heroes who had dedicated their lives to the cause of the freedom movement. This is to honor their sacrificial spirit and dream and the long history of the revolutionary movement. He added that, the RPF/PLA has been observing April 13 since the 1982 Kodompokpi battle, as a tribute to the slain heroes till now and will ever continue. The cassette which contains 10 revolutionary songs and the two page Manipuri calendar will be made available to the general public soon. The proscribed outfit in a press statement also expressed gratitude to the people of the state for paying tributes to its martyrs who had laid down their lives fighting for independence on April 13 last which the outfit has observed as 'Athoubasinggi Ningshing Numit'. The front has expressed gratitude to the womenfolk of Meira paibis, NGOs, clubs and those who had shown respect to the martyrs. This has encouraged the front to march forward in its struggle and had shown clearly that atrocities committed on the people of the state will never cease till independence is achieved, it said. The strength shown by the people will help the front in marching ahead for its struggle for independence, it added.
