Manipur ultras issued threat to Hmars: ZNP

AIZAWL, February 10: A Manipur-based insurgent group has threatened all Hmars living in the area bordering Mizoram to vacate their villages by Saturday failing which their houses would be burnt down, a local political party has claimed, reports UNI. The Zoram Nationalist Party (ZNP) in a press statement, has claimed that Mizos belonging to the Hmar sub-tribe would be forced to lose their home in Manipur following the threat.

Rights panel takes up priests' attack cases

IMPHAL, February 9: The Manipur Human Rights Commission has taken up a suo motu case in connection with the attack on Father Tommy Manjali at the Canchipur Catholic School, on February 2 by unidentified persons. Irilbung security post torched

IMPHAL, February 4: Unidentified armed persons burnt down the unoccupied security post, located at Irilbung in Imphal East district late last night. The main building and other furniture have been totally destroyed in the fire. The post was earlier occupied by CRPF and IRB personnel, sources said.
