CellOne launched in Shillong

Shillong, Feb. 5: Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd today launched its CellOne services in the Meghalaya capital, promising to make it operational by March 31. There is also a lot of heartburn regarding the shift in policy by Reliance Mobile from the pre-paid to the post-paid system.

The inauguration of CellOne services coincides with the problems that have surfaced in Kohima and other parts of Nagaland involving CellOne users. But BSNL has overlooked criticism for failing to provide regular and smooth connectivity in Nagaland and other areas in the region.

Mizoram CM holds talks with Muivah

BANGKOK, Feb 4 ? Mizoram Chief Minister Zoramthanga today met NSCN (IM) General Secretary T Muviah and said dialogue would help in strengthening peace talks between the Government of India and the Naga outfit, reports PTI. ?We had very good discussions and I hope that now things (the peace talks) will move in the right direction,? Central grant for Sanskrit Tols remains unutilised

GUWAHATI, Feb 4 ? An amount of over Rs 35 lakh granted by the Central Government way back in 2001-02 for improvement of Sanskrit Tols in the State and providing scholarships to students and salaries to teachers has remained unused for the three consecutive fiscals including the current one.

Disgusted at the indifferent attitude of the State Government to take steps to improve upon the atmosphere in 81 Sanskrit Tols in the State despite availability of Central fund, Asom Sanskrit Mahasabha has threatened to drag the State Government to the court over the issue.
