BSNL plans mobile phone connections in NE

GUWAHATI, Dec 11 ? The Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) is planning to provide 95,350 mobile phone connections in the north eastern region of the country. This was disclosed by the Union Minister of State for Communication and Information Technology Ashok Pradhan in the Rajya Sabha today. Uranium mining to begin soon

New Delhi, Dec. 10: The Uranium Corporation of India Ltd (UCIL) has decided, in principle, to start uranium mining in the Domiasiat area of Meghalaya. Pre-project activities like preparation of environment impact assessment, environment management plan report and a project report have been initiated and application for mining lease has been submitted to the state government.
