Guwahati/Delhi, Dec. 19: The Ulfa?s Bhutan experience turned more bitter with the surrender of senior member Robin Neog and the arrest of military strategist Bening Rabha. Assam police described the developments as ?crippling blows? to the outfit. Neog and Rabha, both ?majors?, are counted among the top guns of the Ulfa?s military wing, which is controlled by its commander-in-chief, Paresh Barua.

NSCN denies aiding outfit

Dimapur, Dec. 19: The National Socialist Council of Nagalim (Isak-Muivah) has denied the Kuki Inpi?s allegation that the former was providing logistic support to the Kuki Revolutionary Army (KRA) rebels. The apex body of the Kuki tribe in Manipur had recently urged the NSCN (I-M) to restrain the KRA cadre who are engaged in a series of bloody clashes with Karbi outfit United People?s Democratic Solidarity (UPDS) in Karbi Anglong district in Assam. The Kuki Inpi had accused the NSCN (I-M) of helping the KRA cadre.

The Royal Government of Bhutan (RGB) has handed over a batch of seven ultras belonging to the ULFA, NDFB and KLO even as the Government of India has made a request to the RGB to take special care of the women and children captured during its operation against the NE ultras on its soil. Elephant depredation renders 25 families homeless

DIBRUGARH, Nov 19 ? 25 families of the Lezai-Sessa area, south-west of the city have been rendered homeless by a herd of wild elephants in the past few days.
