Mithinga among six ultras in police custody

GUWAHATI, Dec 20 ? Six of the Indian militants captured by the Royal Bhutan Army (RBA) in its operation to dislodge the Indian militants? camps since December 15 were handed over to the State police at Tamulpur, this evening, police sources said. The militants include ULFA publicity secretary Mithinga Daimary and two others from the ULFA and three from the NDFB.

SHILLONG, DEC 19 ? The four NCP deserters who were inducted into the Lapang ministry on December 15 were allocated portfolios today in a major reshuffle in the nine-month-old coalition government. HC admits petition for Mithinga

GUWAHATI, Dec 19? The Gauhati High Court today admitted a Habeas Corpus petition, filed on behalf of Mithinga Daimary, alias Dipak Das, the publicity secretary of the banned ULFA and has directed that if he is in the custody of the Indian Army, as has been alleged, he should be produced before a magistrate at the earliest. The Division Bench of Justice D Biswas and Justice AH Saikia has also directed that if medical aid is needed for the detenue, the same should also be provided to him.
