Bodo groups denounce opposition to BTC

GOYBARI (BASUGAON), Feb 22 — Six struggling Bodo organisations in a joint delegates sitting held on the occasion of Golden Jubilee of Bodo Sahitya Sabha (BSS) here today denounced ‘motivated propaganda‘launched by certain non-Bodo organisations against creation of Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) to solve the vexed Bodo political problem.

Delay in BTC boundary likely

GUWAHATI, Feb 21 — State Government is not in a hurry to demarcate the boundary of proposed Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) despite the pressure from struggling Bodo groups including BLT and its allies ABSU and BPAC. Sources informed that in view of the stiff opposition voiced by non-Bodo groups including Koch-Rajbongshis and Adivasis living in Bodo heartland, the State Government would now try its best to evolve a consensus about the boundary of the BTC in order to find a lasting solution to the Bodo problem.

Assam Cabinet okays BTC formation
