Land encroachment: Govt to impose penalty on erring tea gardens

GUWAHATI, March 6 ? The State Government will initiate steps to regularise the land encroached by the tea gardens by imposing penalty, if necessary, said the Revenue Minister, Sri Devananda Konwar. Service in rural areas: Assam Govt action against 67 doctors

GUWAHATI, Feb 27 – Disappointed with the doctors reluctance to serve in the rural areas, the State Government has initiated disciplinary action against 67 doctors. The doctors were selected by the State Government a couple of months back, but they are yet to join their duties.
