RIL, ONGC clinch deal on gas supply

NEW DELHI, May 15 ? The contentious gas supply agreement between the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) and the Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) has been clinched, thereby clearing a major hurdle in the implementation of the mega gas cracker project in Assam. The resolution of the dispute between the ONGC and the RIL was announced at a review meeting of the gas cracker project, chaired by Union Chemical and Petrochemical Secretary, Vinay Kohli here yesterday.

2300-kg ganja seized in Imphal, five arrested

IMPHAL, May 14 ? In one of the biggest hauls of contraband a police team of the Lamlai police station in Imphal East seized around 2300 kgs ganja worth Rs 6,44,000 in local market here from a truck at Lamlai check post on Sunday. The seizure of the huge quantity of contraband ganja took place when the team carried out a first-king programme along the Imphal-Ukhrul road in Lamlai area. However, the Government notification issued in this connection made it clear that this renaming would be ?without modification of the pay scale of any of the posts therein?.
