GUWAHATI, May 27? Militant outfit National Democratic Front of Boroland (NDFB) received a major blow as nine of its members were killed in an encounter with security forces in the Mahamaya Reserve Forest in Dhubri district in the early hours today. Imphal, May 27: Militants struck in a big way killing at least 11 Assam Rifles personnel and decamping with a large number of arms and ammunition including 4 AK rifles and one 2 inch mortar at Leplian Kuki village around 19 kms north-east of Saikul police station at around 10 this morning. Evict encroachers from KNP: AASU

Union (AASU) has accused the State Government of maintaing silence on launching an eviction drive against the encroachers at the Kaziranga National Park and encroachement on land by the tea companies.
