India seeks closure of 155 ultra camps in Bangladesh

NEW DELHI, May 11 – Notwithstanding Bangladesh’s denials, India has given a list of 155 terrorist training camps operating at various places in that country, many with the help of ISI and Al-Qaeda and asked it to shut them down, reports PTI. While conveying its concern over the support by some fundamentalist organisations of Bangladesh to North-east terrorists, India at a recent high-level meeting has also sought deportation of 85 insurgents from the neighbouring country, official sources told PTI here today.

Donkupar Roy replaces Mawlong as UDP chief

SHILLONG, May 10 – Former chief minister of Meghalaya E K Mawlong has been replaced by Donkupar Roy, the Deputy Chief Minister, as the chief of United Democratic Party, the second largest constituent of the Congress-led coalition government in Meghalaya, reports PTI. Jamiat against repeal of IMDT Act: Madani

GUWAHATI, May 10—Jamiat-ul-Ulema-e-Hind president Maulana Asad Madani today cautioned that repeal of the IMDT Act might pose a serious threat to the existence of Assam as a language State. The Jamiat is opposed to any move to repeal the Act and will consistently fight out any such move.
