Ulfa Mama does a U-turn

Tezpur/Guwahati, Dec. 28: Ulfa leader Bhimkanta Buragohain struck a defiant note two days after making a plea for peace, saying he would await instructions from the outfit?s chairman Arabinda Rajkhowa and commander-in-chief Paresh Barua on his ?future course of action?. Villagers lynch rapist in Mizoram

Aizawl, Dec. 28: In an instance of delivering ?instant justice?, villagers in a remote area of Mizoram executed a man within hours of him raping and killing a mentally deranged housewife. A delayed report reaching here today said residents of Darlawn village in north-east Mizoram lynched Chhandama, belonging to the same village, after he admitted to the crime.
