Assam's share of NPCR fund highest

GUWAHATI, June 18 ? Assam has received the highest amount of Rs 239.16 crore from the Non-Lapsable Pool of Central Resources (NPCR) among all the North Eastern States during the last four consecutive financial years since 1998-99. The release of fund from the NPCR is the lowest at Rs 66.81 crore to Meghalaya during the same period due to poor utilisation of funds and lack of viable projects from Meghalaya Government.

GUWAHATI, June 18 ? The State Government today announced a series of austerity measures including a ban on purchase of vehicles, air conditioners and other gadgets. GUWAHATI, June 12 ? Assam Chief Minister, Tarun Gogoi today urged the Centre to compensate the ?huge disparity?, between the estimates of the Tenth and Eleventh Finance Commissions in respect of shares of central taxes and the actual receipts, reports PTI. Assam Govt to sell off ATC gardens

GUWAHATI, June 8 ? The State Government has decided to sell off the 14 gardens of the Assam Tea Corporation (ATC) to overcome the prevailing financial crisis in the oldest corporation. The State Government has also asked the Corporation to invite tenders from interested parties to finalise a deal in this regard. It may be recalled that, earlier the chief minister, Sri Tarun Gogoi had asked the Corporation to lease out the gardens, but due to some problems, the private parties had to back out from the process.
