NEW DELHI, April 25 (PTI): Army has forwarded to the Union Home Ministry two receipts from a banned militant outfit acknowledging it had received Rs 3 lakh from Nipamacha Singh and Chandramani, Lok Sabha was informed today. This was stated by Defence Minister Jaswant Singh in response to a written question about reports that political stalwarts of Manipur including former Chief Minister W Nipamacha Singh and former Assembly Speaker L Chandramani Singh had donated huge amounts to the United National Liberation Front (UNLF). In one of its reports, the army forwarded two receipts from UNLF, the Minister said. The minister said in the course of counter-insurgency in the State, Army units have often seized demand letters sent by militants as also acknowledgement receipts for money received by them from various agencies and departments. The Home Ministry has sent the report to the Manipur Government for investigation and further action, Singh said, adding that a copy had also been sent to Intelligence Bureau.
