GUWAHATI, July 13 ? Sanmilita Janagosthiya Sangram Samity (SJSS) today vowed to launch an intensive democratic movement besides moving the Court in case the Government created the BTC ignoring opposition from the 80 per cent of non-Bodo population in the proposed BTC area.
The SJSS leaders including the deputy chief Brajen Mahanta today stated that creation of the BTC would pave way for further disintegration of the State disrupting the process of formation of a ?greater Assamese nation.? Calling upon the people to make the SJSS called 24-hour railway and road blockade programme on July 15 a success, the SJSS leaders clarified that they were not opposed to granting autonomy to Bodos as per the recommendations of Bhupinder Singh Committee and warned that creation of the BTC under the amended Sixth Schedule of the Constitution as demanded by the ?trigger happy BLT? would lead to statewide fratricidal clashes among ethnic groups.
