Imphal, June 06: Setting the stage for yet another possible spurt of feuds, the PREPAK has today warned all the defectors to either return to the ‘mainstream’ by July 6 or else pay the consequences. The outfit has also stated that if the defectors do not return by the deadline set then the family members of the renegade members should pay a sum of Rs 5 lakhs as fines for the weapons taken away. In a hard hitting statement issued to the press today, the outfit said that its cadre, Khaidem Sharju alias Sharat (22) of Kumbi bazar Leikai was done to death by the defectors after severe torture in the adjoining night of May 31 and June 1. Sharju was ailing and had gone home for treatment, said the statement adding that the statement issued on June 2 and 3 by the Department of Publicity and Propaganda Committee in the name of PREPAK is a non existent entity maintaining that the statement was the handiwork of the defectors. Mincing no words, PREPAK said that henceforth it will start striking out at the renegades and anyone protesting the action will be viewed as adversaries of the outfit. A bloodshed never witnessed and which will not be witnessed will be launched, warned the outfit in an ominous tone. Addressing the family elders of those involved, PREPAK asked them to keep a close watch on their wards and children as they have been earning easy money in cahoots with children of some police officers. PREPAK also asked the police officers to rein in their children or else their names will be published and made public. All those who have earlier earned easy money in the name of PREPAK and are now leading contented lives at their homes should also surrender to the outfit by July 6, warned the statement or else they will face the consequences. PREPAK has also paid revolutionary salutes to the departed soul of Sharat and shared the grief and pain of the bereaved family.
