PREPAK blames ZRA for killings

IMPHAL, June 5 ? People?s Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK) today blamed Zomi Revolutionary Army (ZRA) for killing six of its members on Saturday in Manipur?s Churachanpur district, a PREPAK statement said. ZRA members gunned down PREPAK members even after knowing their identities, the statement said and demanded an explanation from ZRA, which has been fighting for integration of Zomi tribes in India (Churachandpur), Bangladesh and Myanmar. Six members of the banned PREPAK had been killed in factional fight in Churachandpur on Saturday, official sources said. The ?Military Affairs Committee? of PREPAK asked ZRA to clarify the killing, the statement said, adding the Zomi underground outfit should announce publicly if it stood only for the Paite tribes and against the unity of Manipur. The statement said, PREPAK believed in the ideals of equality and peaceful co-existence of all communities in the State and had not taken any side either during the Kuki-Naga conflict of the Kuki-Paite feud during the nineties. ?ZRA should know this,? the PREPAK statement said. PREPAK, a major underground outfits in the State, is one of the three constituents of Manipur People?s Liberation Front (MPLF) which has been waging an armed struggle for more than 40 years. The other two are United National Liberation Front and People?s Liberation Army.
