MUSSALPUR (Nalbari), June 15 ? The All Assam Students? Union (AASU) and the All Bodo Students? Union (ABSU) the two major students? organisations of the State have decided to work together for the development of the students community besides the all round development of the State. The leaders of both the student organisations recently took an oath to fight against those evil power who are trying to create divisions among the students, in solidarity day function held at Mussalpur in Nalbari district recently. Addressing the meeting the president of AASU Prabin Boro said that to unite the people of all communities we will have to respect the dignity of all communities. Referring to the burning BTC problem, the AASU chief assured that the non-Bodo people living in the proposed BTC area will be protected by any means. Speaking in the meeting Rabi Ram Narzary, president of All Bodo Students? Union (AASU) said that the misunderstanding between the former leaders of AASU and ABSU ?created a big gap ? which after realisation we unitedly come forward to repair?. He thanked the AASU for speaking out in formation of the BTC Narzary further assured that the political and other rights of non-Bodo people living in the BTC area would be protected according to the Indian Constitution. He said,? we always want to live as Assamese. We only demand Bodoland Territorial Council in the boundary of Assam, coming down from our original demand of separate State. Some anti-social elements donot want us living as Assamese and they are misguding the non-Bodo people and creating conflict between us,? he stated. The meeting presided over by Dipul Talukdar was inaugurated by Ram Das Basumatary former president of Bodo Sahitya Sabha. AASU adviser Dr Samujjal Kumar Bhattacharya also spoke in the meeting.
