Nagaland seeks external aid for construction

KOHIMA, July 3 ? The Nagaland government has approached the Centre seeking clearance to acquire aid from agencies like Nippon Foundation of Japan and UK-based War Veterans Society to construct its proposed World War-II museum near the capital town of Kohima. State Minister for Arts and Culture John Lotha said his department had already acquired 32 acres of land for construction of the museum between Phesama and Kigwema beside NH-39. The government has so far spent Rs 12 crore for acquiring land, levelling ground and construction of fencing wall and approach road to the museum complex, where a light and sound show on the second World War would be held regularly after completion of the project, Lotha said.
