GUWAHATI, April 22: The State Government today effected a major bureaucratic reshuffle and shifted persons holding key posts of Additional Chief Secretary, Home Commissioner and Finance Commissioner. Official sources said that Sri MS Pangtey, Additional Chief Secretary in charge of Home, Political, Passport and Border departments has been transferred and posted as the chairman of the Assam Administrative Tribunal, while, Sri PK Dutta, Additional Chief Secretary in charge of Finance Department, will take over the posts held by Sri Pangtey.
Sources said the Sri L Rynjah, Commissioner of the Departments of Revenue, Cooperation and Forests will lose his post in the Revenue Department, while, Sri CK Das, chairman, Board of Revenue, has been given the additional charge of the Principal Secretary, Revenue. Sri Surajit Mitra, Principal Secretary Planning and Development and Tourism Departments will go on deputation to the Central Government to take over the post of Joint Secretary of the Petroleum and Natural Gas Ministry. He will also be the Financial Adviser of the Ministry. Sri PP Verma, Commissioner and Secretary of the Assam Accord Implementation Department and Commissioner Lower Assam Division, has been given the additional charge of Commissioner Northern Assam Division, while, Emily Choudhury, Commissioner, Agriculture, Pension and Public Grievances, has been given the additional charge of the Tourism Department.
The Home Commissioner Sri HS Das has been transferred and posted as Finance Commissioner, while, Commissioner Upper Assam and Northern Assam Divisions, Sri BK Gohain will take over as the Home Commissioner. Sri PK Choudhury, Commissioner and Secretary to the Parliamentary Affairs and Town and Country Planning Departments, has been given the additional charge of the Printing and Stationary Department, while, TY Das, Commissioner and Secretary of the Hill Areas and Science and Technology departments has been given additional charge of the Commissioner, Upper Assam Division. Sri SC Das, Commissioner and Secretary of the Industries, GAD and SAD departments, has been given additional charge of the Planning and Development Department. Sri JP Saikia, Commissioner of the Personnel and Information and Public Relations Departments has been given the additional charge of the Cultural Affairs Department.
