Interests of non-Bodos should be protected

GUWAHATI, Feb 12 ?The Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuba Chatra Parishad has called upon the Bodo leadership of the State to ensure that the non-Bodos living in the BTC area do not lag behind the Bodos in terms of rights and development.

In a press release, AJYCP president Apurba Kumar Bhattacharya and general secretary Dilip Shankar Saikia said it was the duty of the Bodo leadership to allay the fears of the non-Bodos living in the BTC area arising out of the signing of the Bodo Accord on February 10.

The two leaders said that while the aboriginal Bodos of the State had every right to enjoy autonomy, it was necessary that other communities too should enjoy equal rights and privileges.
