Assam's GDP touches all time low

NEW DELHI, Dec 2?Assam?s growth of the Gross Domestic Products (GDP) has touched an all-time low of 2.49 per cent, even as the projected growth rate for the State has been estimated at six per cent during the 10th Plan period. The findings are part of the Assam Development Report (ADR) prepared by Planning Commission, which was released by Prime Minister, Atal Behari Vajpayee. The report has been prepared by Kirit Pareek a consultant. The function held at the Prime Minister?s residence was attended by Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission, K C Pant, Chief Minister, Tarun Gogoi besides top officials of Department for Development of the North Eastern Region (DONER) makes a comprehensive study of all sectors identifying crucial sector which are likely to play a lead role in the State?s economic development.
