This was stated in a press note issued by Sri Ram Budathoki, secretary of the students’ organisation.
Terming the accord a milestone in favour of peace and prosperity in the region, the AANSU leader hoped that the other rebel outfits of the region too would follow the example of BLT for the greater interest of the society.
Referring to the issue of proper representation of all communities in the proposed interim council of BTC, Sri Budathoki demanded inclusion of two members of Nepali community, each from east and west side of BTC area. Since the Nepali-speaking community is found elsewhere right from Kokrajhar to Mazbat area, proper representation of this major community should be taken under consideration, the press release added.

The Darrang district unit of AANSU also welcomed the formation of BTC and hoped that the Nepali community will be given a proper representation in the interim council.
